ABOUT

Firmship builds vessels that are felt, not just seen.

Firmship is a Dutch company dedicated to the design, development and positioning of distinctive vessels with a strong, timeless character. Rooted in the Netherlands and shaped by a deep love of nautical culture, we bring together craftsmanship, design sensibility and an enduring appreciation for the beauty of purposeful ships.

Every hull is a lasting expression of character and identity.

WITH

Naval architecture

Sea Level drew the FS55. The hull, the structure and the layout of every deck came off their boards in Amsterdam, and the final design was signed off in February 2026. Every dimension on this site is theirs.

The yard

Altena Yachting builds the FS55, in steel, at the yard in Raamsdonksveer. Frame by frame, the way they have built motor yachts since 1969. The engine room on this site was photographed at Altena.

Design

Studio Job gave the FS55 its face. The lines of the ship, the pattern on the cushions, the teak furniture and the leaded glass were drawn by Job Smeets for this ship and no other.

WHERE WE ARE GOING

A Firmship should still be sailed with pleasure a hundred years after it leaves the yard.

We are now preparing a 55-foot model, designed with Sea Level and built from steel.
