The Firmship 42 (FS42) is more than just a vessel, it’s a testament to craftsmanship, heritage, and art. The archetypical workboat design of Willem Nieland blends the rugged durability of classic nautical lines with the sophistication of modern design. The Firmship 42 honors centuries-old traditions while boldly redefining them with contemporary aesthetics.
DESIGN ON A PEDESTAL
At Firmship, we believe a yacht should feel like home, a warm, inviting space where you can travel comfortably. We move beyond fleeting contemporary trends by honoring a heritage of craftsmanship, using quality materials and timeless aesthetics that endure. Inspired by the classic charm of vintage lobster boats, we set out to create a vessel with timeless lines and a cozy yet elegant interior that feels like a second home.
WARM LUXURY
Despite its sturdy functionality and artful aesthetics, no concessions have been made in terms of comfort. With its iconic interior inside the cabin you experience a serene nautical atmosphere. It is the warm teak and the silent light grey basis of all materials which makes this hut unique, peaceful and timeless. "The Firmship could be a great alternative to a holiday home." Casper Vissers

In close collaboration with renowned designer Job Smeets from Studio Job, known for his playful way of interpreting the world as it is and fresh take on iconic forms, we crafted a design that stands apart. The result is a yacht that not only looks beautiful but also stands
the test of time, proving that great design can be both classic and contemporary.

The Firmship 42 is available in two distinct versions, each with its own character. One features a classic steel hull with teak paneling and a powerful diesel engine, while the other is crafted from lightweight aluminum with bamboo wood paneling and an advanced electrically powered engine. Both versions embody the same timeless design and uncompromising quality, allowing owners to choose the configuration that best suits their needs and preferences.
The unique Studio Job upholstery of the bench has prints of anchors, Moby Dick, ship rats or a sextant.
Glass & lead is a subject Studio Job uses a lot in his artwork, for Firmship he designed a little window in the hut. The natural daylight shines through the window and plays with the poetic nautical atmosphere in the hut.
The stool is in line with the design of all objects on the Firmship 42.
